How the yes no oracle answers

The oracle draws one of the 78 Rider-Waite tarot cards at random. Every card has a fixed answer based on its overall meaning: 48 cards say yes, 18 say no and 12 say maybe. The answer appears first, followed by the card that gave it and its keywords, so you can see why.

Cards of success, growth, harmony and new beginnings answer yes: The Sun, The Star, The World and the four Aces. Cards of endings, loss, illusion or struggle answer no, for example The Tower, Death or the Three of Swords. A maybe means the matter is not settled yet or depends on a choice you still have to make.

How to ask a question the oracle can answer

Short, specific questions about your own next step work best: "Should I accept this offer?" or "Is now a good time to talk to them?". Avoid stacking two questions in one, and avoid questions about exact dates or about what another person feels. Those do not fit a yes or no answer.

Ask once and sit with the answer. If you feel relief or disappointment, that reaction is useful information about what you wanted.

    Oracle or full reading

The oracle is the quick version. If you want to choose your own card, see the whole interpretation and read the explanation of the answer, use the yes or no tarot reading. For a wider question with background, try the 3 card reading. The oracle is for reflection and entertainment and does not replace professional advice.

    Questions and answers

How does the yes no oracle work?
The oracle draws one of the 78 Rider-Waite cards at random. Each card has a fixed answer of yes, no or maybe based on its overall meaning, and the oracle shows that answer with the card and its keywords.
Is a yes no oracle accurate?
Tarot does not predict events. Treat the answer as a prompt for reflection: notice your reaction to it, because that often shows what you were hoping for.
Can I ask the same question again?
Ask once and think about the answer. Asking repeatedly until you like the result turns the oracle into a coin toss.
What is the difference from the yes or no tarot reading?
The oracle is the quick version. The yes or no tarot reading lets you choose your card yourself and shows the full text for it.
