Suit of Wands Tarot Cards
The fire suit of the tarot: energy, ambition, work and creative drive.
The meaning of the Suit of Wands
The Suit of Wands is the fire suit of the tarot. Its cards deal with energy, ambition, creativity and the drive to start things. In a reading, Wands usually point to work, projects and passion, and to the way you spend your effort.
The Ace opens a new venture or a spark of inspiration, and the cards that follow show it growing: planning in the Two, early expansion in the Three, celebration in the Four, rivalry in the Five. By the Ten, ambition has turned into responsibility and the load can feel heavy.
The court cards describe people and approaches: the curious student (Page), the restless adventurer (Knight), the confident host (Queen) and the visionary leader (King). A spread with many Wands tends to be about action and momentum, and the useful question is often what to do with the energy rather than whether you have it.
